Lifeguards on duty at six Wexford beaches

BEACH USERS are advised that lifguards will be on duty this summer at six beaches around the County Wexford coastline, as shown on the map alongside: 1 - Ballymoney 2 - Courtown Harbour 3 - Morriscastle 4 - Curracloe 5 - Rosslare Strand 6 - Duncannon

Lifeguards will be on duty at weekends only during the month of June, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday. During July and August, lifeguards will be on duty seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. - no matter what the weather!

A red and yellow halved flag (as pictured) means that a lifeguard is on duty and it is safe to bathe. A solid red flag means a lifeguard is on duty and it is dangerous to enter the water. If noflag is flying, it means there is no lifeguard on duty.

People are asked to note that the following popular bathing areas will not be lifeguarded at any time: 1 - Ballinesker 2 - Ballyconnigar 3 - Ballyhealy 4 - Ballyteigue 5 - Cahore 6 - Carne 7 - Carnsore Point 8 - Clone/Castletown 9 - Cullenstown 10-Fethard 11-Our Lady's Island 12-Kilpatrick 13-Poulshone 14-Tacumshane

Extra care should therefore be taken in those areas at all times.
