Local water safety duo honoured
Two Wexfordmen who have given many years of service to Irish Water Safety, were both awarded Life Governor Medals of Honour at a ceremony in Dublin Castle.
Wexford town resident, Des Howett and the Irish Water Safety chairman, Frank Nolan, a native of Wexford town were presented with the awards last Saturday by Mr. Pat Carey, Minister of State for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
Minister Carey paid tribute to the men's service to the teaching of lifesaving and drowning prevention strategies.
This award by the Council of Irish Water Safety ackowledges your voluntary commitment and dedication over many years to promoting public awareness of water safety based on the humanitarian goal of life saving and water rescue', he said.
