Two Wexford ladies went the extra mile for Wexford RNLI recently when they presented them with a generous donation.

Bridget Fenlon and Susan Nolan raised €360 for the cause through their participation in the Women's Mini Marathon last month. The pair presented the cheque to staff from RNLI, who say they were 'delighted' with the donation.

'It was really fantastic to receive such a generous donation,' said Lorraine Galvin from Wexford RNLI. 'That amount will cover the cost of purchasing one new lifejacket.'

Following the cheque presentation, Bridget and Susan were given a tour of the the lifeboat station by the crew.

'We showed them our boat and chatted to them about the work that we do,' explained Lorraine. 'They were amazed at the level of commitment that our volunteers have and at their dedication to protecting the safety of others.'

Members of the public can also avail of a tour, which can be arranged through the RNLI.
