A 31-year-old woman from the Bridgetown area was taken to Wexford General Hospital last night (Monday) after her car was in collision with a lorry on the N11 between the Maldron Hotel and the Ferrycarrig Hotel.

Initial reports had suggested a major incident had taken place, prompting a major response from the emergency services, with two fire tenders and ambulances amongst the vehicles responding.

Local sources said the woman was not seriously hurt and had been taken to hospital by ambulance.

Both vehicles had been travelling in the same direction towards the Barntown roundabout when the accident took place.
