Make some music and dance your legs off at summer party

Traditional musicians, singers and dancers of all ages and from all over the county will be converging on Murphy's Barn from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Bank Holiday Monday for the annual Comhaltas Summer Party.

The event is organised by the Loch Garman branch of Comhaltas and the idea is to kick back, make some music and dance your legs off.

The barbecue coals will be red-hot and while the tea committee will be working overtime, if you want anything stronger you will need to bring it with you.

Everyone is welcome to this fun day on the traditional music/dance calendar. Musicians on every rung of the musical ladder are encouraged to attend and to get stuck into one or other of the sessions. Door donation of €5 is requested per adult.

Murphy's Barn is located in Skeeterpark, Cleariestown.

There is more traditional music to look forward to on the Bank Holiday weekend with Fusion Café in Wexford hosting its lunchtime Trad/Folk Hootenanny on Sunday, August 6 (12 noon - 2 p.m.).

If you have a grá for playing a bit of trad music this one is for you. Brilliant opportunity for novices to cut their teeth while getting the chance to sit in with the pros. Tea, coffee, brunch served.
