Man apologises for wasting court's time
A YOUNG man who raced through a crossroads in Ballymitty at almost 60 km/h over the speed limit apologised for his behaviour. Gavin Nolan (23), of 40 St Martin's Park, Ballycullane, pleaded guilty to careless driving at Ballyknock, on March 5, 2010.
Sergeant Charles O'Gorman detected Nolan travelling at a speed of 138 km/h in the 80 km/h zone at 10.22 p.m. that night. The Sergeant said Nolan went through a crossroads at that speed.
Wexford District Court heard that Nolan has previous convictions for drunken driving and driving without insurance.
He apologised for wasting the court and the sergeant's time.
Judge O' Buachalla asked Nolan if he was working and he was but expected to be laid off soon. He was fined €200 for speeding.
