Man with broken leg airlifted to hospital from beach

A man who had suffered a broken leg was plucked from the beach close to Rosslare Harbour on Tuesday.

Both the Rosslare lifeboat and the Rescue 117 helicopter was called out following the accident, however, the helicopter was first on the scene at the Carraigs and the lifeboat was stood down.

The man, who injured himself when he slipped down the steep bank leading to the beach, was taken to hospital for treatment following the accident.
