Mayor cuts tape at official opening of bridge centre

The new Wexford Community Bridge Centre was officially opened on Friday by the Mayor Cllr Ger Carthy.

Among those attending the opening of the centre, between the Riverbank House Hotel and the municipal swimming pool were council chair Cllr Tony Dempsey, Freda Fitzgerald, the National President of the Contract Bridge Association of Ireland, Paul Porteous, Chief Executive of the Contract Bridge Association of Ireland and Mary Treacy, South East Regional President CBAI as well as local councillors and members of the religious community, Joe Fox of Architects Mahon & Fox and Hughie Murphy of Ballina Construction.

The new centre includes two large playing rooms, each capable of holding 18 tables, a teaching room, an office, a catering area and ancillary facilities.
