Meadhbh Roche from Foulksmills is one of two students from Waterford IT chosen from hundreds to represent Ireland in Washington DC this summer, as part of the prestigious Washington Ireland Program.

Following a rigorous and extensive selection process, Meadhbh, a Health Promotion student, and Valerie O'Brien, an International Business student from Waterford, were chosen as part of a 30-strong group of exceptional emerging leaders from 13 different universities and institutions across Ireland, Northern Ireland and Great Britain.

Maedhbh said: 'It is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am so happy to be joining the other 29 incredible students on this journey.'
