Mega challenge for Glynn-Barntown Club
THE MEMBERS of Glynn Barntown GAA Club will be clocking up the miles in a mega-marathon challenge to mark the 125th anniversary of the GAA on Friday next (March 12).
The Killurin-based club is calling on its members to complete a relay distance of 125 miles in a timelimit of 24 hours. Using their 1km jogging track, each individual participant will be asked to complete a very achievable 2.5 miles (4km) in 30 minutes. This challenge proved very popular last year and the club are hoping for an equally enthusiastic turn out this time.
Meanwhile the club's celebrations really kick into gear with the annual reunion dinner dance in the Riverbank House Hotel on Friday, March 19. At the reunion Glynn Barntown will look back on their long history and recall their most recent triumphs.
