Michelle Dooley Mahon's debut novel 'Scourged - A Memoir' seems to have attracted international attention since its launch, with the author herself saying that dozens of copies have been sent overseas.
The Wexford writer said that she has been 'overwhelmed' by the feedback from readers both at home and away. So far, the author has posted books to destinations as farflung as Australia and Kentucky and hopes that her book makes many more journeys.
'My book has been to more countries of the world in a month than I have in half a century,' she laughed.
The launch of 'Scourged-A Memoir' attracted large crowds to The Book Centre in late October. Friends, authors and fans of Michelle's blog came out to offer her support, including all-important guest, Michelle's father Tom Mahon.
The book, based on Michelle's own experience of having a mother with Alzheimer's, has since received rave reviews. Wexford author Eoin Colfer has described it as a 'most rare and wonderful creature'.
