Mick hops on Kehoe's battlebus
Mick Wallace thought it was too good an opportunity not to take advantage of over the weekend after he hopped aboard Fine Gael Minister Paul Kehoe's battlebus and invited those on board to jump camps.
The candidates were both out canvassing in Enniscorthy when Paul jumped out of the Mercedes, strode over to Mick and shouted 'Welcome to Enniscorthy.' Mick, who for many years had business interests in the town, returned the handshake before boarding the bus and asking those on board to join him 'for the good of Wexford'.
Their replies have not been made public, but witnesses said that judging by the glint in one or two people's eyes his charm may have been moderately successful.
And suggestions that Mick had been invited on the bus to see how a campaign should be run were 'wide of the mark'.
