Motorists are facing traffic delays as road works are carried out on the N11 between Blackstoops and Scarawalsh outside Enniscorthy.

The works which started on August 5 are expected to continue until October 14 creating havoc for motorists especially at peak times.

There is a stop go system in operation for some of the works and the road is closed southbound between the Blackstoops roundabout and the Scarawalsh roundabout from 8am until 6pm daily.

All traffic is being diverted onto the old N11/old Dublin Road to facilitate the resurfacing works.

District manager Padraig O'Gorman said the contract for the works is a 10 week contract for resurfacing works. He said that the traffic diversions, which are clearly marked, onto the old Dublin road will see motorists emerge below the Blackstoops roundabout.
