Name of new WWETC chief executive to be revealed soon

tHE new chief executive of the Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board (WWETB) is likely to be appointed before the end of the month.
Five people had been short-listed for the high-powered post which comes with a salary of between €100,597 to €121,466 a year, but so far no names have been revealed.
The Department of Education said the chief executive will be responsible for the leadership and management of the ETB and is accountable for the overall performance of the organisation.
The post has effectively been vacant for some time since Clare McMahon, who took up the position in 2004, moved to another WWETB position in Waterford. Since then Eilis Leddy has done the job in an acting capacity.
Those applying for the post were required to have a pass degree (Level 7 in the National Framework of qualifications) or equivalent level or a recognised teaching qualification; excellent managerial and ability to manage financial and staff resources.
