NCH stage awaits talented students

Three Wexford primary schools have been chosen to play at the Waltons Music for Schools competition finalists' concert in the National Concert Hall in Dublin on Monday, May 11.

Bunscoil Loreto, Gorey; St Patrick's NS, Craanford; and Danescastle NS, Carrig on Bannow, will all perform for the finalist adjudicators David Brophy and Ellen Cranitch, who will select the winners of €3,000, €1,500, and €500 vouchers from Waltons Music.

Bunscoil Loreto's entry is 'Thank You for the Music', performed by 45 members of the Bunscoil Loreto Music Group, consisting of second to sixth class students.

Danecastle National School's entry is 'Gach Rud Trad', performed by the 33-member Ceoltóirí Scoil Náisiúnta Chaisleán an Danair, consisting of third to sixth class students.

Craanford National School is entering 'Let It Go Traditionally', performed by the 43-member Let It Go Group, consisting of first to sixth class students. Just six primary schools from across the country made it to the finalists' concert.
