A NEW bus service from Rosslare Harbour to Wexford town has been launched.
The service, operated by county hall-based Local Link Wexford, started on July 18 and is the latest offered by the company, which operates both door-to-door services and more traditional bus services.
The new route 387, from Rosslare Harbour to Wexford, calls at Kilrane, Tagoat, Rosslare Strand and Killinick, seven days a week with five services daily in each direction.
The company says it is 'ideal for commuting to and from work or college, for ferry connections or to enjoy a trip to the beach or Wexford Town'.
In addition to the main service, three days per week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, there is a pre-booked service which is also fully accessible that connects into route 387.
'Collect & Connect' will collect pre-booked passenger from the areas of Mayglass, Ballycogley, Tomhaggard, Tacumshane, Lady's Island, Carne and Broadway and take them to meet the 387 in Killinick at 11 a.m. Passengers return from Wexford on the 2.20 p.m. and the Collect & Connect bus meets them in Killinick at 3.05 p.m. and takes them home.
Local Link Wexford began operations in January 2015. Prior to this the Rural Transport Programme was managed by two companies in County Wexford, SWW CDP based in Ramsgrange and WLD based in Wexford.
