Former St Peter's student Niall O' Donnagáin proved that he has the winner numbers when he received a gold medal in Applied Maths in UCD recently.

The Slaney Woods local, who was a pupil in the class of 2015, received the award for achieving the highest mark in Ireland in the Leaving Cert exam. The smart student was joined by applied maths teacher Sean Rossiter and Principal Robert O'Callaghan when he went to pick up the prestigious award.

Niall now has his sights set on the future and is studying medicine in Trinity College.
