Members of the Wexford Borough District Council shot down Cllr George Lawlor's suggestion for the mayor to sit on the committee for the Wexford Winterland event.
Though Cllr Lawlor felt that a representative of the council should be on the committee, Cllr Fergie Kehoe felt that things should be left as they are. Cllr Frank Staples echoed his sentiments, saying that there was 'no need' for the mayor to be on the committee. Director of Services Tony Larkin added that the present committee already work together with the council on the festival.
The mayor was not present at the time of Cllr Lawlor's suggestion.
