No reassurance after HSE meeting
TWO HIGH-PROFILE members of Wexford General Hospital Community Alliance, Fr. Jim Fegan and Dr. Paddy McKiernan said they were not reassured by what they heard from HSE senior management at a meeting last weekend.
The parish administrator who is chairman of WGHCA and the retired consultant physician joined Wexford Oireachtas members at a meeting with the HSE last Saturday which was held in response to the leaking of a document purporting to radically downgrade acute services in Wexford General Hospital.
The Community Alliance which is made up of a range of non-political organisations including the IFA, GAA, Rotary, Council of Trades Unions and Chamber of Commerce, held its own meeting to discuss the issue on Monday night. The WGHCA's mission is to support and campaign for the maintenance and development of acute serves at Wexford General Hospital.
