Oulart raider must wait until next year to learn his fate

AN OULART MAN who pleaded guilty to the attempted robbery of the local Post Office had had sentence adjourned to allow for the preparation of a Probation and Welfare report.

Stephen Thompson, of Lower Ballinacash, Oulart, came before Judge Barry Hickson at Wexford Circuit Criminal Court on a plea of guilty to attempting to rob Christina Dempsey on March 1, 2012, at Oulart Post Office.

He also pleaded guilty to assaulting Ms Dempsey, causing her harm, on the same date, and with possession of an imitation firearm, with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Defence Counsel Sinead Gleeson applied for an adjournment in relation to sentencing to allow for the preparation of a Probation and Welfare report.

Judge Hickson remanded the defendant on continuing bail to Wexford Circuit Court on February 15 next.
