Park owner has worked hard to comply with court
AN ELDERLY holiday park owner who was in trouble over unauthorised development work has since taken great steps at great expense to rectify matters, Wexford Circuit Court heard last week.
The court was dealing with an appeal brought by Winifrede Crean Murphy of Sweet Briar, Curracloe, against a conviction in the District Court in November 2008 for failing to comply with the terms of a notice served in May 2004. A fine of €1,500 had been imposed , along with an order for costs of €1,054.
Council solicitor Triona Walsh told the circuit court 'a huge amount' of work has since been carried out. The appellant has since successfully applied for retention, and has agreed to pay the Council's costs and expenses. Ms Walsh asked that the matter be adjourned to June of next year, in the hope that the remaining work would be completed and the appeal could be allowed. Judge Hickson agreed to the adjournment.
