Pensioner robbed in her home

GARDAI ARE INVESTIGATING a daylight burglary in the home of a Wexford town pensioner on Monday.

The woman, in her 70s, was at home alone in her terraced house at Bride Place on Monday afternoon when the incident happened.

The thieves accessed the house through the front door, while the elderly lady was setting a fire in her front parlour.

She only realised that the house was being burgled when she saw one of the thieves run out the front door.

Gardaí were called and found two rooms upstairs in the house were ransacked.

The thieves made off with a small amount of cash.

Gardaí finger printed scene, and are carrying out a full investigation.
