People still in pub at 1.45 a.m.
A MAN who runs a pub in Blackwater was fined €400 at Wexford District Court for allowing people on the premises after hours.
Sean Whelan, the nominee of Etchingham's pub pleaded guilty to the offence which happened at 1.45 a.m. on September 28, 2009.
Garda Michael O' Grady knocked on the door of the pub and it was opened by Sinead Kelly who was in charge at the time. He saw eight people on the premises consuming alcohol.
The court heard that the pub had one similar previous conviction at Wexford District Court in April of this year but Caitriona Walsh, solicitor, explained that the date of that offence was May 3, 2009.
She said the licence holder Denis Kelly was also in court.
Mr. Whelan was the nominee and he accepted that it was out of order. There was a match that day and the people on the premises were waiting for Sinead to lock up and bring them home.
Ms. Walsh said the nominee had taken extra care to ensure it doesn't happen again.
