Pikeman has his weapon returned
The Pikeman gets his weapon returned on Wednesday morning by Willie Malone sculptor from Irish Bronze with the help of Bernard Roche.
WEXFORD'S Pikeman has been restored to his former glory. Specialists working at fixing the vandalised pike arrived in the Bull Ring from Dublin last Wednesday morning to reinstate the famous weapon.
They had been due to carry out the job the previous Monday, but it's understood there was an issue with a colour clash between the new part and the existing statue.
Scaffolding was erected around the statue to allow the pike be reinstated, though the job was finished relatively quickly, with Willie Malone of Irish Bronze carrying out the important task last Wednesday.
