Posthumous poetry tribute
A BOOK of poetry by a deceased Wexfordman has been published by his sister in a posthumous tribute to him.
The poems written by John Francis Walsh who formerly lived at 2 Cornmarket, Wexford have been edited and compiled by his sister Julie Walsh Kurylo. John, who was a native of Foulksmills, died in 1997 at the age of 66.
The book will be launched by another sister, Margaret Walsh, at a reception in Whites Hotel on Friday, September 24 at 7.30 p.m.
John received an Editor's Choice Award for outstanding achievement in poetry from the International Library of Poetry in 1997 and had his work published in a number of poetry collections.
A son of the late Michael and Mona Walsh, he was educated at St. Peter's College.
His stated philosophy in life was 'to use my talent for the good of others'.
The book of poetry was printed by Townland Families in Taghmon and will be available for sale locally.
