Dog lovers from across the county ditched the football for a day with their dogs at vet Martin's Breen's Charity Dog Show recently.

Held in O'Shea and Bramley Veterinary Hospital, where Martin himself is resident vet, the event saw over 100 owners and their dogs battle it out in nine different categories.

Pick of the pooches was Cavalier King Charles and Bichon cross Ben who was brought along by owner Jake Reville from Ballymitty.

The day also proved to be an extremely successful fundraiser. Martin Breen and co managed to raise €1,610 for Haven Partnership Charity. Haven is an Irish NGO which works in Haiti facilitating the provision of sustainable water and sanitation, education and shelter for its people.

This July, Martin will make the trip to Haiti to help with the charity's work.
