PEOPLE protesting against bank re-possessions demonstrated outside the Registrar's Court and two banks in Wexford town centre on Monday morning.

Aislinn Wallace, from Wexford Housing Action Group, said members of the group and Wexford Hub, were involved in the protests over the numbers of house re-possessions which were coming before the courts.

She said that in the past week, 58 cases had come before the courts in Wexford, the majority of which were adjourned.

'We had our action at the eviction court and then moved on to Ulster Bank, which had 13 in the judge's list today,' said Ms Wallace, 'we received a very good reaction from people on the street'.

Ms Wallace said the protesters filmed the demonstration.
