Public urged to give generously to RNLI
WEXFORD people are being encouraged to donate money to the lifeboat services by Cllr. Robbie Ireton.
At Wexford County Council last week Cllr. Ireton noted that the RNLI organisation were involved in 733 rescues last year.
'It costs €30 a minute to operate an RNLI boat and €465,000 a day for the RNLI to function in Irenad and the UK,' he said.
'I would hope that the next time that people see the RNLI collecting they would bear that in mind,' he added.
