Publican to appeal order to close for three days
Wednesday February 03 2010
A PUBLICAN who admitted allowing an underage teenager on his premises and was ordered to close down his business for three days is set to appeal the matter to the Circuit Court.
The case of Garda Michael Dempsey versus Robert Dunne of Bob's Bar in The Ballagh was raised at Enniscorthy District Court last week by solicitor Caitriona Walsh.
She pointed out that the licensee convicted of the offence under the liquor laws had no legal representation in court on the day that he was convicted.
She confirmed that he now wished to appeal the matter and Judge Donnchadh Ó Buachalla set recognisances to allow him do so.
