Pupils of Kennedy Park get active
Pupils of Kennedy Park National School got busy for Active Week to help their school achieve the Active Sports Flag.
The pupils have been doing a variety of activites and learning from the experts: local clubs visited each day to teach them a skill or two about their sport, with some coaches even staying all day.
'The coaches and club members have been very generous with their time. Some have stayed all day to teach eight classes,' said teacher Valerie Roche.
Activities normally lasted about an hour for each class. The clubs and coaches that took part were: athletics with Kevin Cogley; tae kwondo with John Phillips; Wexford Golf Club; Wexford Hockey Club; Badminton Ireland; kickboxing; Wexford Tennis Club; Albion Soccer Club; Clonard GAA Club; Shelmaliers Ladies Football; tag rugby; hurling; Gymstars; Tug of War Ireland; swimming in Club Whitford; bouncy castle; and boxercise.
