Raven Theatre Flying High
the Audition, a new drama from Wexford's Raven Theatre company, will be brought to Wexford Arts Centre this weekend. The play, written by James Johnson, is described by the company as 'a tense psychological drama' that explores 'how far a person will go to achieve success'.
This is the second production from Wexford's youngest amateur theatre company following a very successful performance of 'Family Plot', directed by Michael Conway.
The cast of 'The Audition' consists of two women: Lauren, played by Rosslare-born Jessica Walker and Stella, played by Wexford local Louise Wickham Dillon.
According to Jayne O'Sullivan, Welsh-born director of 'The Audition', audiences can expect an interesting performance.
'The theme is what would you do to be famous,' said Jayne, who now lives on Forth Mountain. 'The play shows how a director manipulates a girl at an audition to see what she would do to get the role.'
Raven Theatre company was recently established by actors and directors who are passionate about producing and staging plays at venues across Wexford.
Raven Theatre's production of 'The Audition' runs at Wexford Arts Centre this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 3, 4 and 5, starting 8 p.m. each night.
