Reaching to the sky to commemorate suicide victims
The victims of suicide were commemorated in a balloon release at Crescent Quay just before Christmas.
'We like to do it so people can mark the passing of their loved ones and to move on,' said organiser Tanya Fenelon, from the Reach charity shop. A dozen people took part in the release of the red balloons at the John Barry Monument. She said she had received good support for the event and the coffee morning and the sale of memory bows to accompany it at the shop in Henrietta Street. Tanya said the rate of suicide in Wexford was still too high and more work needed to be done.
