AROUND 300 people are expected to take part in this year's Oylegate 10k and Half-Marathon on August 27 which was launched in Mernagh's Pub recently.

Proceeds from the marathon, organised by Billy Reck and Oylegate GAA Club, will go to Wexford Hospice Homecare.

'We have two options for our walkers and runners on the day. They can either do our 10k or half marathon, which ever they prefer really,' said committee member Eamonn Mernagh.

The half-marathon will start at 10 a.m. and the 10k will start shortly so everyone can finish at around same time.

'People can register on www.runireland.com or on our website www.oylegatehalfmarathon.com,' said Eamonn.

The main sponsor for this year's event is Alan Maher Consulting.

The runs will start at the GAA club, continue onto the Bog Road, then through Coolanick, Scurlough's Bush, and then back onto the main road and return back to the club.
