The residents of Whiterock View want to see a one-way system brought in for the street.

Last week the members heard that the residents had looked to meet with the council members 'regarding ongoing traffic problems in their street and to present a petition calling on the council regarding a one-way system for their street'.

Cllr Deirdre Wadding said the residents also wanted to see ramps and traffic calming measures installed on the road because the area is being used to try circumvent traffic problems elsewhere.

Cllr Davy Hynes suggested waiting to hear from the deputation before holding any discussion on the matter. Mayor Carthy said if people 'want street lights now they want a deputation'. Engineer Lar Lett said that the matter had been raised with him previously and the council agreed to arrange a meeting with the interested parties to progress the matter.
