Saoirse Ronan nominated for Golden Globe

Actress Saoirse Ronan is basking in a golden glow at the moment having been nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in Brooklyn.
Ronan who was getting her nails done in top Dublin salon Tropical Popical last week when she heard the news.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Ronan said that she kept getting phone calls from her publicist in the middle of her manicure. 'So I answered: 'I can't talk to you right now! I'm getting my nails done!' Then, my publicist was like, 'Well, you just got nominated for a Globe, so you have to talk to us!' I kind of squealed.'
The 21-year-old Carlow actress said that 'everyone cheered' when she got off the phone saying she had received an 'incredible amount of sincere support from everyone in Ireland'.
It's the second Golden Globe nomination for actress. She picked up her first nomination at just 13 years of age for her role in Atonement.
Also vying for the Best Actress Golden Globe are Cate Blanchett for Carol; Brie Larson for Room; Rooney Mara in Carol and Alicia Vikander in The Danish Girl.
Announcing the Best Actress nominations veteran actor Dennis Quaid mispronounced Saoirse Ronan's name referring to her as 'Sheesha Ronan'
She also received the Best Actress award at the Moet British Independent Film awards.
