Scouting's highest honour for Ann
PIERCESTOWN Scout leader, Ann Rochford received scoutings highest honour recently when she was awarded the Order of Cu Chulainn.
Chief Scout, Michael J. Schinnick presented Anne with the prestigious award at the National Conference of Scouting Ireland in Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
Ann is currently the Group Leader of the 25th Wexford Piercestown Scout Group, but has held numerous positions over the years in the scouting movement.
She spent six years on the national executive board, six years as regional commissioner, and also held the positions of regional secretary, and regional trainer. Ann, pictured right receiving her award, is one of those responsible for the current fundraising push to build a new scouts and guide hall in Piercestown.
