sinn Fein Councillor Anthony Kelly is seriously ill in hospital after suffering a series of strokes and a heart attack.
Anthony, who is in his early 60s, is in the Intensive Care Unit of Wexford General Hospital. He suffered a stroke on Tuesday night, his condition deteriorating on Wednesday.
Former Independent councillor Padge Reck, who worked with Anthony's sister Mary at Joyces, said he was deeply shocked to hear that he was unwell, having worked with him for a long number of years on the council.
'I always found him to be courteuous and kind and a hard worker for his constituents,' said Padge, whose comments were echoed by serving members of the county council.
