St Mary's are top losers in Operation Transformation

A group of Wexford residents proved that you can gain from your losses at the final St Mary's Maudlintown Operation Transformation weigh-in in The Rocks Complex.

They certainly had a reason to celebrate as they lost a combined total of 511 lbs as a result of their dedication to the fitness challenge.

Awards were presented on the night to those who were running slightly ahead of the pack. Mick Phelan from St Mary's was the male winner of Operation Transformation for losing 14.55 lbs. He was followed by Dick Walsh from the Talbot Hotel staff who lost 12.78 lbs and Matty O'Gorman from the Talbot Leisure centre who lost 8.77 lbs.

Paula McGrath from the Talbot Hotel staff was flying the flag for the ladies when she was announced as the overall female winner for losing 14.3 lbs. Martina Carty from the Maldron was second for losing 9 lbs and Orlaith Quigley from St Mary's came third for losing 8.5 lbs. St Mary's were the best overall gym for Operation Transformation, followed by Ferrybank in second and the Talbot Hotel staff in third.

Following a prize ceremony in Billy Kelly's pub, everyone enjoyed some well-deserved music and entertainment until the early hours.
