Stole clothes for his grandchildren
A MAN who stole clothes from Dunnes Stores for his grandchildren, was fined €250 by Judge Gerard Haughton at Wexford District Court.
Andrew Carroll, Coolook House, Ballycanew, Gorey pleaded guilty to stealing items including three jumpers, a dress and a cardigan valued at a total of €144 from Dunnes Stores in Redmond Square, Wexford on December 1 last year.
The defendant was stopped and searched by a security guard after concealing the items on his person and leaving the store without paying. The court heard that he had previous convictions. Solicitor David Tarrant said it was coming up to Christmas and the defendant had nothing for his grandchildren so he stole clothing for them.
