Streets come alive
THE STREETS of Wexford town were buzzing from early last Friday evening as people of all ages and inclinations came out to experience 'Culture Night'.
There was music emanating from every corner of the town as all kinds of acts, from pipe bands to buskers, brought the town to life.
Wexford's second Culture Night featured a very diverse programme, catering from the youngest children (with clowns, puppet shows and art workshops) to the more mature among us, who could take their pick from a huge number of events.
The joy of the night was that you take almost everything in, wandering effortlessly from contemporary dance in Cornmarket to some Samba music in Selskar, or enjoying a Ceili after a walking tour.
An undoubted highlight was the 'Wexford Festival Opera Preview', where two opera singers enthralled the small crowd in the foyer with stunning renditions of some operatic favourites.
There were also some great exhibitions for everyone to enjoy, with Padraig Grant's projected images from his forthcoming exhibition and limited edition book ' The Beach Day' drawing a lot of people by Wexford Arts Centre.
