Students are Next Level at dance competition

Students from Next Level Dance School in Wexford town made their mark at Spectrum Dance Events in Dublin last week.

The school's dance crews, Hysteria and Imperium, performed to their highest standard and brought home many awards from what is regarded as one of Ireland's premier dance events.

Hysteria members - Shona Kavanagh, Shauna Brady, Caithlin Stamp, Corey Lacey, Ashleigh Godkin, Stephanie Nolan, Ava McGarry - have been together for three years and have been practising for this competition since January, where they placed first in the under-16 category.

Imperium crew - Saoirse Sheil, Kayla Frewen, Katie Roche, Alannah Gabbett, Julie Roche, Robyn Driscoll, Marissa Bail, Jade Kenny - have only been together since January and placed third in the under-14 category.

Other winners from the school included Stephanie Nolan and Ava McGarry who came first in the duo category; Ashleigh Godkin and Corey Lacey who also placed first in the duo category; Caithlin Stamp was first in the solo category; Shona Kavanagh and Caithlin Stamp who were placed second in the duo category; and Kayla Frewen and Marissa Bail came fifth in the duo category.

The dance school is based in Lower Bride Street in Wexford but they also have classes in Glynn-Barntown and Taghmon. For further information contact choreographer Joelle White on 087 9768864.
