DAVID O'Farrell (39), of Polehore, Glynn, has been disqualified from driving for three years and fined €400 after admitting he was 'stupid' to drive after drinking.
He pleaded guilty to drunken driving at Muchwood, Glynn, on May 31 last when he appeared before Wexford District Court last Tuesday.
He had been spotted driving very slowly by the Gardaí, who realised straight away he was drunk when they pulled him over.
O'Farrell gave a breath sample revealing a concentration of 82 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of breath, a level that carries with it a mandatory three-year driving ban.
'I was stupid on the night,' said O'Farrell, who apologised to the court. He has no previous convictions. His driving ban was postponed until September 1 on his request due to his early, guilty plea.
