BIDDERS for the Stonebridge complex in Wexford should know by the end of the week which of their bids have been accepted for the €6.75 million development on Paul Quay which is home to the TK Maxx store.
The six-storey development includes the premises leased by major retailer TK Maxx, 73 apartments, retail space, and a multi-storey car park with 314 spaces along with a former grain store building on a site of 2.15 acres.
Karl Stewart of agents DTZ Sherry FitzGerald is handling the sale of the portfolio.
Business sources said there has been a lot of interest in the development, with several bids being submitted, at least one of them reportedly by a hotel development company. DTZ Sherry Fitzgerald has not confirmed the names of any of the bidders or said how many submitted bids.
So far, Wexford jeweller Frank Hynes is the only person to make his interest public and says the group of investors he is working with have submitted a bid and are also negotiating the possible purchase of the old Dunne store on Main Street.
While he agreed that Dunnes is not officially for sale, he said negotiations were currently taking place with a firm of auctioneers.
