A week of summer workshops led by independent dance artist Dee Grant culminated in a successful show in the Wexford Art's Centre recently.

The Down Syndrome Wexford Summer Dance Experience saw Dee put children, teens and adults through their paces in fun daily workshops over the course of the week. It ended on a high for the dozens of dancers when they teamed up with Traces Dance Ensemble from the Down Syndrome Waterford branch for a lunchtime performance.

Organised as part of the Artist in the Community Project run by Wexford County Council, the show attracted a great amount of support from the dancer's family, friends and members of the public.

'It was a terrific week for Down Syndrome members in the south east. The hope is to make it annual event,' said Dee.
