Parents are being invited to take the plunge with their toddlers at the free Water Babies Taster classes in Wexford this August.

The swim classes, which are suitable for babies as young as several weeks old, have been arranged to coincide with the launch of the swim school's autumn term. Parents are being encouraged to bring their children to the taster events in The Maldron Hotel on August 27 and The Amber Springs on August 28 to find out more about Water Babies.

'Water Babies is such magical experience for babies. They absolutely love the sensation of floating in warm water,' said Elaine Dunne, who brought Water Babies to the Southeast with husband George. 'The repetitive movements of bouncing and splashing provide a great stimulation for their sense of motion and balance.'

The Water Babies swimming course differs from traditional swimming lessons. Each class sees parent and child work together in the pool using a series of techniques aimed at developing confidence in the water. Water Babies only use warm water pools so babies can join classes from birth and immunisations are not required. The team also cater for children with special or additional needs, along with premature babies.

Water Babies classes are now held in three locations in Wexford.
