Swiss adventure for scouts

Members of the 13th Wexford Scout Group assemble before they set off for Switzerland on their annual camp.
A PARTY of fifty scouts and leaders from the Thirteenth Wexford Scout Group recently set off for Switzerland on their annual camp.
The group consisted of boys and girls of all ages ready for adventure. Their destination was the Kandersteg International Scout Centre, a permanent mini Jamboree for scouts from all over the world.
Whilst there the group had some amazing experiences, from white water rafting on the Lutshine River to snow and ice climbing high in the Alps.
An International night was held where cultures and traditions were shared between the many different nationalities present.
During their stay, the group achieved several awards including the Kandersteg International Scout Award and the World Centre Award. Twenty-two of the more senior scouts received the High Adventure award for undertaking challenging hikes at high altitude.
The group returned after the journey with an immense sense of achievement and looking forward to their next adventure.
The scouts would like to say a big thank you to all the leaders and parents for the tremendous am of work that made this camp so successful.
