TAGHMON A PLACE TO BE CHERISHED
WALKING THE STREETS of your town or village every day you may be taking your ' built environment' for granted, but the fresh eyes of the Tidy Towns adjudicators have no problem expressing their appreciation of many of our architectural gems.
Did you know, for example, that Taghmon ' has the potential to become a very interesting and nice place to live in and to visit - especially for people with an interest in architecture and archaeology'.
The adjudicators who visited the village of Taghmon (a small town in Tidy Towns population terms) were 'very impressed with the interesting built heritage of your town - it is something to be cherished'.
'We would suggest that you might speak to the Architectural Conservation Officer in your local authority in relation to obtaining advice as to how best to endeavour to conserve what you have,' the adjudicators said.
