A HIGH profile leaders summit in Wexford, at which speakers including Leinster rugby player Brian O'Driscoll were due to appear, was cancelled because of the lack of uptake on tickets.

The Techovate conference should have taken place last Friday at White's Hotel.

The line-up included a host of dynamic speakers from multi-national and Irish companies, the one-day event said to offer an unrivalled opportunity to interact with, and learn from, senior executives in some of the world's most successful companies such as Microsoft, Nokia and Mondelez International.

The inaugural Techovate Conference took place in Wexford Opera House last year and attracted more than 400 delegates with speakers from the world's global technology leaders including Google, IBM and Cisco as well as successful Irish companies such as the Taxback Group, Netwatch and Done Deal.

The theme of this year's conference was 'Empowering Business Growth' and how this can be achieved around three pillars of Fostering Innovation, Embracing Technology and Dynamic Leadership.

Wexford Chamber said on Friday, the conference had been called off because of the lack up ticket uptake.
