Staff at Our Lady of Fatima School received a welcome surprise when they were presented with a cheque for €379.98 recently.

The money, which was donated as part of the Tesco Community Funding Programme, was presented in Tesco in Wexford town. According to Lorraine McMahon, Special Needs Assistant at the school, all at Our Lady of Fatima are 'delighted' with the donation.

The school hope to put the money towards some new facilities such as a playground.

A cheque was also presented to The Sensory Collective Group on the day as part of the same scheme. Shona King, founder of The Sensory Collective Group, collected €293.39 for the not-for-profit group which provides services for children with special needs in Wexford.
