Thieves raid creche and supermarkets

BURGLARS escaped with around €1,000 in cash after breaking into Doyle's Londis Supermarket in Ferndale during the early hours of last Tuesday, April 7.

Gardai said the thieves forced the rear door and had attempted to gain accesss to the in-store ATM machine, but only managed to escape with a cash float, although they did some damage to the store.

• In another robbery on Tuesday, thieves stole four tricycles worth more than €1,000 after breaking into the Rainbow Creche at Whitemill. Gardai said the tricyles were worth between €250 and €350 each.
